Greenville, Ohio — March 12 — Gardeners, growers, and curious community members are invited to attend a Seed Swap and Library Seed Catalog Presentation on March 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Greenville Public Library. This free event celebrates seed saving, sustainable gardening, and community sharing.
The presentation will be led by Carey Johnson, who will introduce attendees to the library’s Seed Catalog — a resource that allows patrons to “check out” seeds, grow them at home, and, when possible, save and return seeds to help the collection grow. Participants will learn how the seed library works, how to select seeds suited to local growing conditions, and the basics of successful seed saving.
Following the presentation, attendees are invited to participate in a community seed swap. Gardeners of all experience levels are welcome to bring seeds to share — vegetables, herbs, flowers, and native plants are all encouraged. Those new to gardening are welcome to attend; no seeds are required to participate.
“This event is about growing more than gardens,” said Nikki Levek, Program Specialist. “It’s about building community connections, preserving biodiversity, and empowering people to grow their own food.”
The Seed Swap and Catalog Presentation is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
