Alan Pittaway, 71, of Greenville, passed away on April 15, 2025, at Wayne Hospital in Greenville.
He was born on March 3, 1954, in Oxford, England, to the late Stanley and Mary (Chiddington) Pittaway.
In addition to his parents, Alan is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kimberly (Palsgrove) Pittaway, whom he married on July 1, 2006, and who passed on July 5, 2018.
Alan will be missed by his friend and caregiver, Kathy Cradduck; his children, Julie Pittaway of London, England, and James (Donna) Pittaway of Oxford, England; his step-children, John (Melissa) Retelsdorf and Andrew (Alex Greene) Retelsdorf, all of Omaha, Nebraska, and Brett Retelsdorf of Denver, Colorado; his granddaughter, Phoebe; and his siblings, Susan Elizabeth Bowen, David Pittaway, Christine Wood, and Lynn Granden, all of England.
Alan was raised in England, where he attended Barronsfield School. He was a supervisor in the automotive factory for Austin Rover. In 2007, Alan moved to the United States, where he became a United States citizen in 2020. Alan was an avid soccer fan, always rooting for his favorite teams, Liverpool and Oxford. He also always enjoyed his cats, Kelly and Bootsy, whom he spoiled rotten.
A private burial at Harris Creek cemetery will be held at the family’s convenience.
