Beatrice Kay Holsapple

October 14, 1952 – April 18, 2025

Beatrice Kay (Armstrong) Holsapple, 72, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at her home in West Manchester, Ohio. Born on October 14, 1952, in Beech Grove, Indiana, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Harry and Bernice (Huber) Armstrong. Throughout her life, she was known for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to family and community.

On April 6, 1985, Beatrice married the love of her life, David Holsapple. Their 40 years of marriage were marked by love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Beatrice was not only a cherished wife but also a mother, grandma, and great grandma, leaving a legacy of love that will live on through her family.

Beatrice spent much of her life contributing to her community, particularly through her work with local fire departments in Darke and Preble counties. She became a skilled and dependable expert in repairing fire gear, ensuring that firefighters had the equipment they needed to stay safe. Her dedication to this work was matched by her commitment to the West Manchester Fire Department Association, where she was a respected and valued member.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, her son Wesley G. Holsapple, her brother Harry V. Armstrong, and her in-laws Walter and Myrtle Holsapple.

She leaves behind her loving husband David; her children, Sheila (Brian) Clay of Arcanum, Shelley (Eric) Martindale of Crossville, Tennessee, Joel (Kassandra) Holsapple of West Manchester. Her grandchildren, Lesa (John) Barga of New Paris, Ohio, Eryn McNew, Rodney McNew of Aurora, Colorado, Camen Martindale and Madysan of Crossville, Tennessee, Annabelle, Josie, and Layla Holsapple of West Manchester, Ohio. Her brother and sister in law, Larry and Judy Armstrong, of Indiana. As well as 5 great-grandchildren.

A woman of great strength and heart, Beatrice will be missed deeply by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, from 1-6 PM. A celebration of Beatrice’s Life will be held at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home on Friday, April 25, at 11 AM. Following the service, there will be a burial at Castine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the Holsapple family asks that donations be made to Vitas Hospice or West Manchester Fire Association in Beatrice’s Memory.
