Barbara “Jane” Mumaw age 97, of Versailles passed away at 3:01 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Danbury of Huber Heights.
Jane was born on October 17, 1928, in Greenville to the late Lester & Helen (Severt) Hole. Jane was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph F. Mumaw on May 14, 2013, whom she married July 23, 1949; son-in-law, Terry Cassel; sister & brother-in-law, Myra June & John Shumaker; and in-laws, Robert & Mary Mumaw, Earl & Dorothy Mumaw, Don & Norma Mumaw, Ruth Denlinger, and Fred Jordan.
Jane is survived by her children, Linda Cassel, and Terry & Joyce Mumaw; grandchildren, Heather Ingle, Christina & Ryan Hurley, Angela & Jason Willis, Beth & Cort Harter, Darrin & Olivia Mumaw, Trish Geesey, Ben & Tracy Cassel, and Betsy & Aaron Ward; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister-in-law, Joan Jordan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jane was a 1946 graduate of Versailles High School. She retired in 1989 from working in the cafeteria at Versailles Elementary School for 22 years. Jane was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. Jane loved cooking for her family and gardening. She enjoyed bowling and watching her grandchildren play sports, where she could always be found with a bag of popcorn and ziploc bags full of bubble gum.
A Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 16, 2026, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
