Greenville, OH – The Greenville Business & Professional Women’s (BPW) Club March 12th meeting was hosted by the Scholarship Committee with Co-Chairs Sue Huston and Alexia Sykes and members Kim Davis, Tonya Keller, Tara Denniston, Samantha Porter, Pegi Deeter and Gina Wolfe. The meeting was held at the Birchwood Training Center, 5844 Jaysville St. Johns Rd., Greenville.
The Scholarship Committee canvassed all eight Darke County high schools for applicants for the scholarship. Each of the finalists gave a presentation of their accomplishments and highlights through high school and shared their future goals. Sue Huston introduced the finalists who were: Alivia Addis (Franklin Monroe), Isabella Armstrong, Kamryn Beisner, Gabrielah Dumas (Arcanum), Olivia Schmitmeyer (Ansonia), Isabel Badell, Ava Good, Yoselin Nielson, Rachel Wright (Greenville), Mekedes Butsch (Tri Village), Brooke Bergman, Paige Gehret, Ruth Smith (Versailles), and Danika Neargardner and Iris Schneider (Mississinawa).
Club members chose the following scholarship winners Alivia Addis, Isabel Badell, Brooke Bergman, Mekedes Butsch, Paige Gehret, Ava Good, Yoselin Nielsen, and Olivia Schmitmeyer.
Tessa Riehle of Tipp City, Ohio was the recipient of the Anna Britton Scholarship. She is the granddaughter of member Kathy O’Dell. Congratulations to all those who participated!
The Club holds fundraisers throughout the year which includes their Annual Guest Night, Darke County Fair Parking and Chicken BBQ Dinners. The Club meets the second Thursday of every month September through June. The Greenville BPW mission is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education, and information.
