The festival board is proud to share that they contributed $140,632 to the Versailles Community over the last year with the majority of these funds supporting Heritage Park operations and recent improvement projects. This donation to the community reflects festival growth and increased sales. The festival’s ten-year total donations are $989,079. This includes the tremendous support the festival received during the 2020 COVID barbecue.
This year Poultry Days is especially proud of the Versailles community for their support of Heritage Park. Poultry Days established Heritage Park in 1985 and has since funded the operations of the park and nearly all improvements. Last year the Heritage Park board embarked on an ambitious improvement plan. While Poultry Days contributed to these improvements, the vast majority of the project was funded by a generous community.
Poultry Days, Inc. is a volunteer-based organization that supports community projects and activities that improve the quality of life. Recent donations include: Children’s Shrine Hospital, Council of Churches, Heritage Park, Kinder Korner, TASKS, VAPPA, Versailles Acme Baseball, Versailles After Prom, Versailles Alumni, Versailles Athletic Boosters, Versailles Bike Rodeo, Versailles Boy Scouts, Versailles Community Scholarship Fund, Versailles EMS, Versailles Fire Dept, Versailles Historical Society, Versailles Library, Versailles Musical Theatre, Versailles Youth Wrestling, Versailles Youth Sports, Versailles Hometown Christmas, and Versailles Life Wise.
The Versailles Board of Directors finds way to the support the community in addition to planning and executing the festival. This includes assisting presenting the importance of volunteering to the 8th grade Civic Class at Versailles Junior High.
