Wanted Person
On April 23rd, 2026 while in the area of the 600 block of Sweitzer St., Greenville, Ohio I observed Zachery Jameson-Downam walking on the sidewalk. I ran Zachery through LEADS/NCIC and it showed that he had active warrant through Franklin County Ohio for failing to comply with a Burglary charge. I made contact with Zachery and advised him of his warrant. I detained Zachery by placing him into handcuffs that were gap checked for tightness and double locked while waiting the warrant to be confirmed. Zachery’s identity was confirmed by his Ohio Identification Card.
Once Franklin County confirmed the warrant, Zachery was searched incident to arrest with no contraband located. Zachery was transported to the Darke County Jail and left with the on duty staff. Zachery will wait for extradition to Franklin County.
The rear of my cruiser was checked before and after transport with nothing located.
Drugs
On April 23rd, 2026 at approximately 1857 hours, officers from the Greenville Police Department responded to 209 North Main Street in the city of Greenville to assist Adult Parole with a home visit.
Upon our arrival, myself and Adult Parole Officer Mcwhinney made contact with Marty Griggs who is on Parole and resides by himself at the residence. Officer Mcwhinney asked Marty if we could come in which he opened the door and invited us in. While speaking with Marty, Officer McWhinney asked him if he had anything on him which he advised he did not and allowed P.0. Ward to search him.
Officer McWhinney advised Marty she was going to look around and asked him if she was going to find anything which he stated no but then stated there was an empty bag from when he was using when he relapsed.
I began to assist Officer McWhinney with searching the residence. In the kitchen, I located a blue backpack sitting on the stove. It should be noted that earlier in the day, I had observed Marty outside of the residence with this same backpack on his back. While searching the backpack, in one of the side pockets, I located two small plastic baggies which contained a crystal like substance which resembled methamphetamine.
I continued to search the residence with Officer McWhinney and while searching the bedroom, on the dresser, I located a hollow pen with white residue inside of it. From my training and experience, I know that drug users will sometimes use the body of a pen that has had the internal pieces removed to snort illegal narcotics.
Due to the suspected illegal narcotics found, I placed Marty under arrest for possession of drugs and placed him in handcuffs which were double locked and gap checked.
I advised Marty of his Miranda Rights which he advised he understood. I asked Marty if it was meth inside the baggies which he advised, “it better be”.
Nothing else was located in the search.
Marty was transported to the Darke County Jail by P.0. Daugherty and incarcerated on his charge of Possession of Drugs, a felony of the 5th degree.
I transported the listed items to the Greenville Police Department. Once there, I conducted a field test of the unknown substance using a NIK test which showed a positive result for containing methamphetamine. The listed evidence was packaged and placed into property as evidence.
The unknown substance will be sent to the BCI Crime Lab for analysis. I will follow up with the results.
