Carol L. Labig, age 88, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.
She was born on November 24, 1937, in Ansonia, to the late Art and Ethel (Yockey) Riegle.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Labig, whom she married on December 7, 1957 and passed away on August 17, 2008; her son-in-law, Nelson Ball; her daughter-in-law, Risë Labig; and her siblings, Roxine (Gayle) Besecker, Betty (John) Miller, and Melissa (Carlton) Strosninder.
Carol is survived by her children, Scott Labig of Greenville, and Sarina Ball of Covington, Kentucky; and her grandsons, Tyler Ball of Covington, Kentucky, and Preston (Allison Mattingly) Labig of Dayton.
Carol was a 1955 graduate of Ansonia High School. She worked at Royal Garments in Ansonia before continuing her career at Westinghouse in Union City. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Carol treasured time spent with her family and loved gathering with those closest to her.
A woman of strong faith, Carol was a lifelong member of Ansonia First Church of God and Salam Church of God. She served her church communities through teaching Sunday school and sharing her talents in numerous ways, including serving as chairperson of the Harvest Bazaar at Salam Church.
Carol was a longtime member of the International Flying Farmers and the Ohio Pork Council. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a local card club that met each Wednesday at the old Ansonia firehouse. Her creativity and love of crafts brought joy to many. Carol will be remembered for her faith, kindness, dedication to family, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
A Celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Ansonia First Church of God, with Pastor Jeff Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
Guests may visit with Carol’s family on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 12:00 PM.
