To mark the festival’s diamond anniversary and the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a fireworks display will take place at the festival on Friday June 12th. The Social Tent will be packed with entertainment all weekend including Saw Crush, 1988, Act 3, First to Eleven, the CPR Band and performances by local emerging artists. Don’t miss the biggest party in the county, featuring three days of live music, great food, family activities and unforgettable memories.
Home of the World’s Largest Chicken BBQ. Poultry Days is famous for its delicious, slow-cooked chicken dinners that have been a summer tradition for generations. Last year, 40,179 dinners were served and demand continues to grow as visitors travel from across the region to enjoy the World Famous Chicken. For many visitors, a Poultry Days chicken dinner isn’t just a meal-it’s the reason they come back year after year.
The Drive-Thru / Walk-Thru chicken lines (459 S. Center St) are for individual dinners only. These lines open at 3:30 Friday, 11:30 Saturday, and 11:00 Sunday. Pick up for pre-purchased bulk coolers will be the High School (280 Marker Rd) and is best entered from the West on 121/Marker Road. Individual dinners will not be served in the bulk pick up line. VAPPA will offer the savory “Pit Potato” packed with flavor, along with its refreshing hand-squeezed Lemonade. The flag raising ceremony involving the VFW, High School Band and elected officials will be at 1pm on Saturday, June 13th. 5K Run/Walk registration will remain open until the morning of the event, which begins at 8am on June 13th. FREE Kiddie Tractor Pull, FREE Family Fun Zone, FREE FFA Activities, FREE Chicken Eating Contest and FREE Entertainment all weekend.
Holly Keiser has been selected as Honorary Grand Parade Marshal which will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 13th. The Chicken Classic Cruise In will begin at 9am on Sunday, June 14th with registration at the corner of South Center and West Ward Streets. NO AGE LIMIT ON VEHICLES. Cars, Jeeps, Trucks and Motorcycles are welcome.
Ultimate Disc will celebrate its 44th year in Versailles at Heritage Park. The weekend’s tournament will include 30 teams from throughout the United States. The Zac Richard Scholarship Fund Vendor Area is FULL. Other activities include “Sons of the Legion” Cornhole Tournament, Lions Club Chuckaluck, Flower Show, K of C Bingo, Cake & Egg Show, and of course the Miss Chick and Little Miss Poultry Days pageants.
