On April 7th, 2026, at approximately 0500 hours, I responded to 225 Birth Street, in the city of Greenville, also known as South Towne Laundry. I responded in reference to a tip from a citizen that she believed subjects were at the laundry mat and appeared to be damaging some of the machines. Upon my arrival I observed two bicycles outside one of the doors. I looked through the windows of the laundry mat and did not locate anyone. I proceeded inside and I could immediately hear two subjects arguing in the bathroom, sounding like a male and female. On one of the counters in the laundry mat, I discovered a pile of belongings, like trash, chargers, bottles of pop and other miscellaneous items.
As I was about to knock on the bathroom door to make contact with the subjects, the male subject exited and I recognized him to be Todd Garner. A female, also in the bathroom, was recognized and identified as Sierra Hill. I asked Sierra and Todd what they were doing and they advised laundry. I advised them of the complaint I had received and they stated they were only doing laundry. Sierra walked closer to the counter and set her bag that she was carrying in a rolling cart. Todd proceeded over the the other counter that contained the items and began cleaning them up. I asked Sierra if she was finished with her laundry and she stated yes. I asked her where the laundry was at that she had just done and she advised she was washing her shoes. I looked down towards her shoes and observed a needle falling out of her right pant leg. I told Sierra I saw a needle and she tried to bend down initially to retrieve it. I ordered Sierra to turn around and I gained control of her arms. I placed Sierra in handcuffs, detaining her and retrieved two needles that had fallen out of her pants. One needle was located with a clear liquid substance Sierra stated was water. The other needle was empty. While conducting a probable cause search on Sierra and her belongings I located a third needle in her bag.
I collected the needles as evidence and placed them in an evidence envelope. Sierra was released pending further charges after lab testing. The empty needles were photographed and properly disposed of. The contents in the loaded needle were photographed then field tested with a Nik Public Safety test pouch, that specifically tested for Methamphetamine. I placed a sample of the liquid in the needle into the pouch and crushed the ampules inside. The color of the agent immediately turned into the blue color indicating Methamphetamine was detected. The rest of the liquid in the syringe was transferred into a tube that was sealed and packaged as evidence to be sent to BCI for official chemical testing to determine the contents. The needle was disposed of as well once the contents were emptied. Criminal Charges will be pending the lab results and review by the prosecutors office.
This case will be further updated through case management.
