The inaugural RallyX Americas event at Eldora Speedway delivered an exciting night of rallycross racing after Mother Nature forced a change of plans. Persistent rain throughout Friday canceled the opening night of competition, with officials making the decision to call off all scheduled racing. Teams were still able to complete practice sessions earlier in the day before the weather worsened, and all attention shifted to Saturday’s full racing program under the lights.
Despite the weather setback, fans who came to the historic dirt oval were treated to an action-packed evening featuring RallyX Americas’ premier divisions: Hypercar and Supercar.
The Hypercar class represents the top level of RallyX competition. These purpose-built FC1 machines are all‑electric and produce 1,000 horsepower, feature all-wheel drive, and are capable of blistering acceleration while soaring over jumps and tackling mixed-surface corners. Driven by many of the sport’s biggest international stars, Hypercars are the fastest and most technologically advanced vehicles in the championship. The series added a sound system to make the cars more dramatic and crowd‑pleasing on track (the sound reminds a bit of spaceships in science fiction movies)
The Supercar class serves as the next step in the RallyX ladder. Built around the FC2 platform, these cars also feature turbocharged engines and all-wheel drive but are designed to provide a more affordable and standardized package for developing drivers and teams. While slightly less powerful than the FC1 Hypercars, the FC2 Supercars still produce spectacular racing with close competition and impressive speed.
Saturday night’s finals featured dominant performances in both divisions.
In the Hypercar Final, Swedish rallycross veteran Timmy Hansen led from start to finish to capture the victory after a flawless drive. Hansen fended off an early challenge before pulling away from the field to claim the Round 3 win.

The Supercar Final saw another commanding drive as Lukas Andersson controlled the race from the opening corner. After withstanding early pressure, Andersson steadily built his advantage to secure the victory at Eldora.

Although rain washed out the opening night, the first RallyX Americas appearance at Eldora Speedway still showcased why rallycross is an exciting motorsports discipline. With dirt and pavement transitions, door-to-door racing, and world-class drivers, the event gave Ohio fans a thrilling introduction to the growing RallyX Americas championship.
