On Thursday, June 18 through Saturday June 20th, members of the Versailles FFA Chapter had the opportunity to attend the Catalyst Conference hosted by the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation in Indianapolis.
Versailles FFA was nominated by the Ohio FFA to represent the state in attendance at the Catalyst Conference.
Attending members included Greta Broering, Rhylan Broerman, Monica Evers, and advisor Taylor Bergman.
The conference provided valuable insight into the FFA motto, “Living to Serve,” through its theme of fueling change through service. Members attended workshops where they learned the difference between community needs and authentic needs, as well as the distinction between community service and service-learning projects. Participants also developed plans for activities they can implement during the upcoming school year using the knowledge gained at the conference. In addition, members participated in several hands-on service projects, including mulching and landscaping, packing service boxes, clearing twigs and tree debris, creating floral arrangements for nursing home residents, and packing snack bags in partnership with Goodwill.
The experience helped members strengthen their leadership and service skills while preparing to bring new service learning opportunities back to the Versailles FFA Chapter.
The Versailles FFA thanks the Ohio FFA for the nomination and the Arthur M Blank Family Foundation for sponsoring the event.
