Larry Roland Riley Sr. age 84 of Union City, OH, passed away peacefully at Everheart Hospice of Greenville on Sat. August 1, 2026 from complications from a broken hip.
Born March 25, 1942 in New Castle, IN to the late Cecil and Annabelle (Anderson) Riley Larry was also preceded in death by a son William Chad Riley, his siblings Rosalie (Rose) Mills of Winchester, IN, Judy Horton of Bradenton FL.
Larry is survived by his son and daughter in law Larry Jr. and Traci Riley of Union City, IN, a daughter Katlyn Riley of Union City, OH, grandchildren Jim (Heather) Hunt of Honey Creek, IN, Larry III (Jesse) Riley of Winchester, IN Bryson Riley and Carmela Riley of Union City, OH, siblings Barbara Washington of Richmond, IN, Sheila Gilliland of Liberty, IN, Sandy (Mills) English of Noblesville, IN, Lisa (Riley) Jones of FL, and numerous great nephews, nieces, grand children and dear friend ex-wife Annie Sonner.
Larry attended high school at Spartanburg, IN after school he served 2 years in the Indiana National Guard. He was a retired union iron worker Local #290 Dayton, OH after retiring he tended bar at the Point Café in Greenville, OH, Sater Lanes of Greenville, OH, Union City, IN Eagles (F.O.E.), was an avid softball, bowling, and horse shoes in his younger days. He loved the Reds, Browns, and I.U. basketball. He was a member of Union City American Legion, Elks, VFW, loved hanging with friends at the clubs and loved playing cards.
Per Larrys request he will be cremated with a private burial at the convenience of the family.
