Norma R. Parin, 72 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Saturday January 29, 2022 at 8:22 AM at her residence. Norma was born June 13, 1949 in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of the late Norbert and Genevie (Barton) Smith.
Norma was a homemaker, and a member of St. Denis Catholic Church; she loved to collect antiques & vintage Christmas decorations. Norma loved going to flea markets, doing puzzles with Tom, being outdoors, cutting grass and was always seen wearing her flip-flops. Norma also enjoyed socializing with friends and their “Third Thursday” group night. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family, esp. her grandchildren.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents; her brother: Nelson Smith; and her brother-in-law: Steve Parin.
Norma is survived by her husband: Tom Parin of Versailles whom she married September 19, 1970; her children and spouses: Tony and Jennifer Parin of Versailles, Kim and Scott Ward of Versailles; and Eric and Jennifer Parin of Muncie, Indiana; her grandchildren: Andrew, Grant, Brevin (Krystal & Kenslie), Quinn, Chloe, Zachary, Lydia, Audrey, Clara, Thomas, George, Caleb, Ava, Garrett, and Noah; her siblings: Norman Smith, Gail Haynes, Gene Smith, Neal Smith, and Nick Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday February 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church 14 East Wood Street, Versailles, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Jim Duell Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday February 2, 2022 and from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Thursday February 3, 2022 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. Masks are encouraged for those attending the visitation.
