Russell A. Elson age 98, of Greenville passed away at 11:35 am Monday, January 31, 2022, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.
Russell was born January 18, 1924, in Darke County to the late Thomas A. & Mina C. (Cool) Elson. Russell was also preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Perry, Marion, Lawrence, John “Red” and Erie Elson.
Russell is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa & Kent Wentworth of Greenville; granddaughter, Bonita Wentworth; sister, Betty Hittle of Celina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Russell retired from the railroad and formerly worked at Wayne Feed Supply Co.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
