The racing season at Eldora Speedway is heading toward another major weekend, with the 44th 4-Crown Nationals scheduled for Sept. 24-26 at the famed half-mile dirt track.
The three-day event, presented by NKTelco, will bring together four major open-wheel divisions for Saturday’s championship night, while Thursday and Friday will feature their own full programs.
The weekend is one of the more distinctive events on Eldora’s calendar. The lineup combines the traditional USAC National Sprint Cars, USAC National Midgets and USAC Silver Crown cars with High Limit Racing’s winged sprint cars. USAC has described the event as the only 2026 weekend where all three of its national divisions will compete at the same venue on the same weekend, along with the Kubota High Limit Sprint Cars.
Three nights, four headline divisions
The racing begins Thursday, Sept. 24, with the USAC National Sprint Cars and USAC National Midgets.
Spectator gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m., followed by hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. The night’s program is scheduled to include qualifying, heat races, a sprint-car B-Main and feature events for both divisions.
Friday shifts the focus to the winged sprint cars.
High Limit Racing and the Great Lakes Super Sprints will headline the night’s program, with USAC Silver Crown qualifying also scheduled. Hot laps are set for 6 p.m., with racing scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Friday’s program is also scheduled to conclude with a post-race Fan Zone party featuring Tony Funk & the Homewreckers.
Then comes the centerpiece of the weekend.
Saturday’s 44th 4-Crown Nationals is scheduled to begin with hot laps at 6 p.m., with racing set for 7 p.m. The tentative event order calls for USAC Sprint Car qualifying, High Limit qualifying, USAC Midget qualifying, B-Mains and then the four championship features.
Each of the four headline feature races is scheduled to pay $15,000 to win.
Saturday brings the four crowns
The Saturday program will determine winners in the USAC National Sprint Cars, High Limit Racing winged sprint cars, USAC National Midgets and USAC Silver Crown.
The variety is part of what makes the 4-Crown different from a conventional sprint-car or stock-car weekend.
Fans will see non-wing sprint cars, midgets, Silver Crown machines and winged sprint cars all compete at Eldora during the same three-day event, giving the weekend a distinctly open-wheel character.
