Alice M. Kermeen

Alice M. Kermeen, 77, a longtime resident of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, in Greenville.

She was born on September 13, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late David and Dorthy (Wilkins) Altick.

In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Kermeen, whom she married on July 2, 1966 and passed away on May 25, 2013; her granddaughter, Hillary Fitzgerald; and her brother, Robert Altick.

Alice graduated in 1962 from St. Joseph High School in Dayton, Ohio. She worked for K-Mart in Greenville for over 30 years. Alice’s family was her pride and joy. Her face always lit up when her grandchildren or great children came to visit her. She enjoyed long walks down their country road with her grandchildren, husband, and dog; often pulling a wagon holding the littlest grandkids. Alice may have been her legal name, but many called her “mom”. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling. Alice was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville.

Alice is survived by her children, Mark (Michelle) Kermeen of Urbana, Ohio, Chris (Kim) Kermeen of Greenville, Ohio, Diana Kermeen and friend, Mike Brandt of Greenville, Ohio and Janice (Travis) Walker of New Paris, Ohio; her 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; her siblings, Theresa (Carter) Hamilton of Brookville, Ohio, John (Clara) Altick of Huber Heights, Tom (Barb) Altick, of Huber Heights, Mary Baudendistel of Dayton, and Tim (Debbie) Altick of Middletown, Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville with Father Matt Feist officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Guests may visit with Alice’s family on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Saturday from 9:30 until 10:30 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.
