Shirley Ann Derr

Shirley Ann Derr age 87, of Webster passed away at 4:53 am Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.

Shirley was born August 23, 1934, in Troy to the late Waldo & Alma Colbert. Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Derr on July 9, 2016, whom she married August 18, 1967; son, Vincent Brooks; brothers, Don Colbert and Darrell Colbert; brothers-in-law, Billy Hayes and Richard Michael; and sister-in-law, Dottie Harrison.

Shirley is survived by her children, Steve Brooks & friend, Chris Simon of Hudson, Florida, and Deb & Jim Meyer of Ft. Loramie; daughter-in-law, Darla Brooks of Florida; grandchildren, Casey Brooks & fiancée Erica Rose, Scott & Liza Brooks, Steven Brooks Jr., Jordan Meyer & fiancée Bridget Dues, Ashley & Todd Shaffer, Brittany & Josh Blankenship, Holly Brooks, Jason Meyer, Sandy & Jason Heckman and Ashley & Eric Pleiman; 17 great-grandchildren; in-laws, Ruby Hayes of Webster, Harry “Dean” & Rosie Derr of Versailles and Shirley & Bob Didier of Celina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Bradford High School. Shirley formerly worked at Troy Sunshade in Troy, NCR in Dayton, Inland Homes in Piqua, Subler Transfer in Versailles and Mac Truck in Versailles. She was a member of Webster United Methodist Church, Celina Moose Lodge and Versailles American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Shirley’s greatest love in life was spending time with family and friends, along with shopping, dining out, cooking, gardening and trips to Florida to visit with family. Shirley will be forever loved and dearly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, April 4, 2022, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Douglas E. Gardner Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
