

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) designated Ohio as the 13th Age-Friendly state at the Ohio Department of Aging’s Policy Summit on Healthy Aging. On September 17, the summit was hosted to discuss policies and create a statewide strategy to support healthy aging.
Older adults are the heart of our communities. They enrich our lives with their unique experiences, their wisdom and their perspectives.
AARP and the World Health Organization (WHO) partner to recognize states and communities that commit to being great places to age. In the state of Ohio, there are 36 AARP-certified Age-Friendly Communities, including 15 located within our nine-county region.
