Joseph Ralph Beatty was born in Greenville, Ohio, on October 18,1947, and passed away on September 29, 2021, in Houston, Texas.
Joe grew up on a farm where many of his talents were developed. He graduated from Greenville High School and The Ohio State University with a degree in Agronomy; and he also earned his private pilot license while at Ohio State.
Joe’s business career began in agriculture and transitioned to the energy sector beginning with Standard Oil, and later starting a business which co-manufactured U.S. energy products in Russia.
His love for classic cars and airplanes included driving, flying and working on them.
Joe is survived by his wife Patty, of 53 years, son Jeb, daughter-in-law Joanna, his grandchildren, Ursula and Clyde, sisters Elaine Dorn and Janet Rhoades, aunts and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Ralph and Bonnie and his son Zachary.
Terry Haworth will conduct a graveside interment service at the Fort Jefferson Oak Grove Cemetery on June 18, at 2:00.
After the service we will move to the Fort Jefferson Memorial State Park, so dress is casual, and feel free to bring your lawn chairs to the park.
