Rudy A. Teaford

Rudy A. Teaford, age 76 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:45 PM Monday June 20, 2022 at his residence in Greenville.  Rudy was born October 22, 1945 in Greenville and the son of the late Frank and Hazel (Dye) Teaford.

Rudy was a 1965 graduate of Greenville High School and following graduation served in the US Army from 1966 until 1968.  He then went to work full time with James Delaplane and Sons Dairy Farm then transitioned to Greenville Township in April of 1982 retiring at the end of 2017 as the road superintendent for Greenville Township, a job he thoroughly enjoyed for 35 years. In addition to his work at the township, he had worked part-time for Charles and Patricia Sackett on their swine farm. Rudy also continued to work part-time with Jim and Jason Edsell at the Darke County Tile Company. He was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville where he had served on the church council, usher, deacon, communion distributor and many years as the church cemetery sexton.  He was also a member of the Greenville American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Colin Teaford, Terry Teaford and Rod Teaford.

Rudy is survived by his wife Ann M. (Meyer) Teaford of Greenville.  They were married March 1, 1969.  Also their children Jodi (Tom) Barhorst of Greenville and Jamey Teaford and Kara Vossler of Plain City, Ohio; three grand dogs Aglaia, Cass and Emmett; brother Bruce N. Teaford of Greenville; sister Arlene (John) Sanders of St. Augustine, Florida; sister-in-law Barb Teaford of Greenville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 AM Friday July 1, 2022 in the St. John Lutheran Church 7418 State Route 121-N. Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Alliyah Greaver officiating.  Burial with Full Military Honors offered by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will follow in the St. John Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday July 1, 2022 from 9:30 AM until time of the memorial service in the church.
