Andy J. Arnett, 89, of Greenville, Ohio, went home to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
He was born on September 19, 1932, in Greenville, to the late Lewis A. and Goldie May (Hines) Arnett.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his wife, Clara (Wright) Arnett on September 9, 2016; his brother and sister-in-law, Willard “Bill” (Pat) Arnett; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty (Duane) Rolfe, Martha (Gene) Riegle, and Wanda Bolyard.
Andy and Clara were married on November 17, 1962, and were married 53 years before her passing. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Andy retired from the Greenville City Schools after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a teacher and Special Services Coordinator and was focused on students with special needs. He was instrumental in the development of Individual Education Plans in Ohio. Andy was also a faithful and dedicated servant of God. He was always very active in his church and taught Sunday school for over 50 years. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He loved farming, horses and, of course, his family. Every day he would help his son-in-law Scott and his grandsons with farming and their truck business.
Andy is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Scott) Rowland of Ansonia; his grandsons, Justin (Shelby) Rowland of Rossburg, Ohio, Cody (Danielle) Rowland of Ansonia, and Andrew Rowland of Ansonia; his granddaughter, Alexa Rowland of Peoria, Arizona; his great grandchildren, Summitt Ann, Lincoln Scott and Henry Elwood Rowland; his sister, Charlene (Roger) Black of Austin, Texas; his brother-in-law Don Bolyard; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Andy’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Paula Spear officiating. Burial, with full Military honors performed by the Greenville Honor Guard, will follow at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
Andy’s family will be receiving guests on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
