Also special note on Missoula Children’s Theatre Residency and special Board meeting notice
On Friday, July 9th – 6 p.m., BBQ & Blues Returns to the Greenville Library Lawn. Admission is $10.
DCCA joyfully announces that the organization’s popular summer fundraiser “Barbecue and Blues” will return to the Greenville Library Lawn on Friday, July 9. Begun over a decade ago, “Barbecue and Blues” attendance has grown steadily through the years; however, the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated the cancellation of the highly anticipated event last year. According to DCCA Artistic Director David Warner, in response to the forced hiatus of the music and fun, this year’s “Barbecue and Blues” will be “the best ever,” with an unmatched lineup of outstanding artists and food vendors. The event begins at 6 p.m., and is allied with Downtown Greenville’s First Friday event, held on the second Friday of July due to Independence Day celebrations during the actual first Friday.

DCCA to hold special meeting
Darke County Center for the Arts’ (DCCA) Board of Directors invites all Members to a Special Meeting to be held on Thursday, June 24, at 11:45 a.m. on the 3rd floor of the Greenville Public Library for the purpose of voting on a proposed change to Article II, Section 7 of the Regulations of Darke County Center for the Arts, Inc. to increase the term limit of a director from three consecutive three-year terms to no more than four consecutive three-year terms. Said regulations would be amended to read “Article II, Section 7, Term Limit. The directors shall be limited to no more than four consecutive three-year terms,” DCCA board members see a need for continued and experienced leadership coming out of the pandemic. Immediately following the special meeting, the board of directors will convene for their regular monthly meeting.
Darke County Center for the Arts encourages cultural enrichment in the community by presenting high quality performing and fine artists. In addition to offering an Artists Series and a three-performance Family Theatre Series at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall, DCCA presents Special Performances, a Coffee House Series at local venues, and Arts In Education outreach programming which brings professional performers to inspire creativity in the students of all Darke County Public and Greenville City Schools. Additionally, a summer theater residency is offered for local youth.
