OCTOBER 17, 1926 – AUGUST 22, 2022
Bernadean E. Kochersperger, age 95 of Gettysburg, Ohio passed away at 3:30 AM Monday August 22, 2022 at the Village Green Health Center Greenville, Ohio. Bernadean was born October 17, 1926 in Union City, Indiana and the daughter of the late Nelson Everett and Eva (Lecklider) Apple.
She was retired having owned and operated Bernadean’s Beauty Shop in Covington, Ohio.
Bernadean was a very active member of the St. John Lutheran of Greenville, loved her church family, and served for many years by crocheting hundreds of prayer shawls, planning, hosting and making decorations and favors for the Mother/Daughter banquet and the Oktoberfest celebration. She sang in the choir, sat on many committees, and also served as the first female president of the congregation. Her personal ministry for many years has been creating and sending hundreds of birthday and anniversary cards to members of her church family. She was also a member of the Treaty Squares of Greenville, the Tippecanoe Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a former Emergency Medical Technician with Gettysburg Rescue.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul L. Kochersperger in February 28, 2017. They had been married for 72 years. Also her brother Chester Apple and sister Ruth Marshall.
She is survived by her children Terry L. (Marlene) Kochersperger of Spring Grove, Illinois, Paula D. Kochersperger of Gettysburg and Jeannine Malandrini of North Platte, Nebraska; grandchildren Darren (Trisha) Kochersperger, Chris Malandrini and Erica Crewdson; great grandchildren Rylee, Mason and Ayden Kochersperger, Kaitlyn, Kiley, Kassidy and Kenny Paul Aden as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday August 27, 2022 in the St. John Lutheran Church 7418 State Route 121-N. Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Alliyah Greaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Gettysburg Cemetery Gettysburg, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of the services in the church.
As the color Purple was Bernadean’s favorite color the family has requested all guest in attendance to please wear some form of purple clothing to help honor her memory.
