Betty J. Small, age 98 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at The Brethren Retirement Community.
Betty was born February 25, 1926, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late John H. and Bernice (Davis) Vaughn. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Small, whom she married on July 23, 1942.
Betty is survived by her children, David (Pam) Small of Enon, Ohio, Dan (Teri) Small of Greenville and Evelyn (Eric Goldman) Small of Salt Lake, Utah;
her grandchildren, Justin (Jill) Small, Tyler (Trish) Small, Will Goldman, Anna Goldman, Heather (Ricardo) Zea and Angie Geus;
her great-grandchildren, Shane Small, Sean (Jon) McMahan, Tara Eades, Theo Small, Donovan (Stephanie) Preston, Cory (Haley) Penkal, Hunter Penkal, Lance (Kaileigh) Preston, Allie Penkel and Ricardo Zea;
and great great grandson, Cameron McMahan.
Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, OH since 1954. She worked at Wayne Hospital in the Accounts Payable Department for about 14 years, prior to, she worked at AAA in Greenville. She served her community as a volunteer at the Garst Museum for many years. She faithfully knitted many blankets, booties and hats for premature babies. She was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at The Abbottsville Cemetery with Pastor David Hawley officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice in Betty’s memory.
