Bob M. Anthony age 96, of Greenville passed away at 6:25 pm Friday, April 15, 2022, at EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.
Bob was born July 28, 1925, in Darke County to the late Herbert R. & Ruby (Delk) Anthony. Bob was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy A. “Dot” (Kuhnle) Anthony on January 12, 2014, whom he married December 1, 1945; sons, Steven Carl, Charles Robert and Denny K. Anthony; brother, Gene Anthony; and sisters, Doris Wortman and Sharon Anthony.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Linda Sue Anthony of Greenville; son & daughter-in-law, Michael Ray & Joann Anthony of Greenville; daughters-in-law, Barbara Anthony of Greenville and Diane Anthony of Greenville; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Herbert Anthony Jr. of Arcanum and Kenneth Anthony of Newark; sisters, Betty Eifinger of Newark and Phyllis Hindman of Newark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob retired in 1991 having worked with his wife Dot, at Anthony’s Cycle Center Inc. of Greenville, a business they owned and operated since 1948. Bob was a member of Abbottsville United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #143 F&AM where he was past Master; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; Antioch Shrine of Dayton; Darke County Shrine Club where he was Past President; Darke County Shrine Jeepsters where he served as President, Secretary and Treasurer; York Rite Greenville Chapter #77 & Machett Council #91; Greenville Elks Lodge; Greenville Eagles Lodge and Greenville Moose Lodge. Bob was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association; past District & National Referee for Professional Motorcycle Racing; and life member of Treaty City Motorcycle Club. Bob was founder and a charter member of the Enduro Riders Association and served as Past President.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home with a Masonic Memorial Service and Scottish Rite Ring Degree Service starting at 7:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Bob’s memory.
