Roaders derailed on homecoming night

Advantage goes to South.
Twin Valley South came out breathing fire, scoring on its first two possessions en-route to a 40-8 hammering of Bradford.
“We just fell apart,” said Bradford coach Nicholas Bandstra after the game. “On offense, we didn’t block and on defense, we missed too many tackles. As coaches, we have to do a better job. We had issues in game two against Cincinnati Country Day (a 33-6 loss). We had them backed up several times and penalties killed us. Just a lot of areas we need to clean up.”
Down 13-0 at the 3:47 mark of the opening frame, Bradford was able to get on the board at the 1:23 point when quarterback Owen Canan hit senior Trey Smelzer for the score.
After a successful two-point conversion, the Roaders were in business.
Unfortu8netly that would be as close as Bradford would come to the Panthers.
At the half, Spouth was well in control, holding a 25-8 advantage.
“I have to remember this is a young team,” admitted Bandstra. “These kids are going to make mistakes and we as coaches have to do a better job preparing them. Overall, I thinks the kids played well. As a coaching staff, there’s a lot of things we need to clean up and fix.”
Next on the docket for Bradford is a trip to Tri-Village then a home game with Arcanum to close out the season.
Around the county, Versailles topped St. Henry28-6 while Tri-Village put the beatdown on Dixie, 72-0. Ansonia remained undefeated with a 34-0 drubbing of Tri-County North.
