Bruce M. Monnin, age 64, passed away peacefully on a beautiful, sunny Monday, July 8th, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving wife, Stephanie, and family. He was born April 30th, 1960, to Denis and Jeanette (McEldowney) Monnin. He was a 1978 graduate of Russia Local School. On November 1, 2013, Bruce married the love of his life, Stephanie G. (Strunk) Monnin.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Stephanie, his children, Jacob D. Monnin of New Bremen, Ohio and Regan A. Monnin of Russia, Ohio, and his three bonus daughters, Hannah J. Sunderland, Emily G. Sunderland, and Allie M. Bruns all of Russia, Ohio. He is also survived by his mother, Jeanette Monnin of Russia, Ohio, his father and mother-in-law, John and Martha Strunk of Anna, Ohio, his eight siblings, Brian (Dee) Monnin of Russia, Ohio, Wanda (Ray) Laughman of Russia, Ohio, Lori (Mark) Link of St. Henry, Ohio, Lanita Dues of Greenville, Ohio, Eric Monnin of Tucson, Arizona, Alex Monnin of Russia, Ohio, Paula (Andy) Turpen of Versailles, Ohio, and Stacy (Angie) Monnin of Sidney, Ohio, his brother-in-law, Steven Strunk of Anna, Ohio, his sister-in-law, Stacey Wolfe of Fort Loramie, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his father, Denis Monnin, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
After graduation, Bruce began working for Clopay in Russia, Ohio but eventually found a job at Honda Engine Plant in Anna, Ohio where he would retire after 29 years. In his free time, Bruce enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and being outside. He especially loved spending time with his family. Bruce travelled to Arizona frequently to spend time with his brother, Eric, on many adventures. Also, he loved going to Lake Cumberland to go fishing with his father-in-law, John. Bruce was Russia Local School’s Track coach in his younger years.
Bruce was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 15, 2024 at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia. Burial to follow in St. Remy Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Russia on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 1 to 4 PM and on Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
