Caden Joel Smith, age 19 of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was born on February 20, 2004 in Greenville to Joseph Smith and the late Jessica Smith.
In addition to his mother, Caden is preceded in death by grandmother Anita Price; uncle, Shawn Kincaid; aunts, Melody Dean and Linda Smith; and uncle Daniel Smith.
He is survived by his father, Joseph (Carrie Swink) Smith; siblings, Seth Smith, McKenzie Smith, Ljay Smith, Audysti Trittshuh, Cameron Smith, Cali Smith, Brooklyn Smith, and Londyn Smith; grandfather, Tom Price; grandmother, Lynnette (Brian) Trent; grandfather, Thomas Buckley; great grandmother, Wanda Buckley; aunts, Marlena Leonard; uncle, Ryan Rupp; uncle, Thomas (Jane) Price, Jr.; uncle, Daniel Smith; cousin, Bryan (Debby) Houdeshell; step-mother, Tiffany Swiger; beloved dogs, Drake and KK; and many numerous cousins and friends.
Caden adored his family and his siblings meant the world to him. He loved playing and watching sports, especially football. He loved his friends and enjoyed hanging out with them. He was an avid animal lover. Caden enjoyed music, cars, traveling to the ocean, and going to the movies. He enjoyed his life and lived it to the fullest.
Caden is free from his quadriplegic body which held him captive since his accident in November, 2020. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him most.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville with Kevin Mac McKenzie officiating. A Celebration of Caden’s Life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Greenville Union Cemetery.
