With a ribbon cutting ceremony and an open house in the new building, Flory Landscaping marked on Friday another milestone in their family business: 35 years of business success.
At the age of 15, Kevin Flory founded his company in 1989 with a borrowed push mower from his grandfather (Henry Flory) and a 1967 Chevy pickup driven by his mom.
He reflected on how this venture had been his lifelong dream since his teenage years and he expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to realize this vision, and he especially was thankful that his father was able to see the finished building before he passed away just a couple of months ago.
Kevin also is very thankful that the community has been exceptionally supportive over the past 35 years, allowing Flory Landscaping, the family business he started from scratch, to reach this milestone.
He states that the success of Flory Landscaping is due to the hard work and dedication of the employees, and superior service to all of Flory’s wonderful customers.
Flory recounted the humble beginnings of Flory Landscaping, tracing its origins back to his transfer to Greenville Schools from Franklin Monroe during eighth grade. When a farming accident ended his football aspirations, Flory channeled his energy into entrepreneurship, starting with mowing lawns and trimming shrubs.
Still in High School, Flory already hired people to work for him.
Flory’s wife and children became integral parts of the business, sharing his dedication to serving the community through their landscaping services. Today, Flory finds inspiration in his children and grandchildren, who continue to fuel his passion for the business.
Congratulations to Flory Landscaping on this remarkable achievement!
