Charles E. “Chas” Young, 70, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away, peacefully, on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at his home.
He was born on May 2, 1952, in Connersville, Indiana, to the late Charles and Susann (Tompkins) Young.
In addition to his parents, Chas was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Alice Maze; his children, Charles Edward Young II, Julie Marie Bagby, Daniel Emory Young, Ruthie Jean Young and David Wayne Young.
After high school Chas served his country honorably in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of E-2 Airman. He retired as a mail handler working for the United States Postal Service for 34 years. Chas was a member of Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, as well as watching movies and reading.
Chas is survived by his wife of 14 years, Cindy (Long) Young, whom he married on July 27, 2008; his children, Michelle Catherine (Lamont) Lee, Dawn (Adam) Griffith, and Chanda (Chad) Davidson; his grandchildren, Brittany (David) Jones, Tyler (Sylvia Marbach) Davidson, Christian (Sarah) Frech, Larry (Makayla Steele) Bruce, Michael Spikes, Lathan Frech, Zoee (Noe Rodriguez) Flatter, Charissa Scott, Brianna Bagby, Jaide Flatter, Larissa Young, Lamonica Lee, Lamontianna Lee, Landen Godown, Tanner Godown and Liam Young; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Addy, and Lochlan Sheard, Taven and Jensen Jones, Satie Frech, Braxton Bruce, Killian and Alvy Rodriguez and; his sister, Shirley (Gary) Williams as well as, many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Chas’ life will be held at 5:00 PM, on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Cedar Grove Church, 373 Love Road, New Paris, Ohio 45347, with Pastor Tony Price officiating.
Chas’ family will be receiving friends from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the church.
