Chas. Timothy Moss

December 8, 1945 – March 20, 2025

Chas. Timothy “Tim” Moss, age 79, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at Versailles Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Tim was born in Hamilton, Ohio to the late P. Delbert and Lorabel (Benson) Moss.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of nearly 59 years, Jennie (VanHise) Moss, whom he married on March 26, 1966; his sons, Tim (Charlotte) Moss and Bob (Terri) Moss; his grandchildren, Thadeus (Jessica) Moss, Cody (Paige Bachman) Moss, Andrew O’Brien and Elizabeth Moss; 4 great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Sandra Hoffert.

In addition to his parents, Tim is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Gene Moss; his sister, Suzanne Huffman; his nephew, Alan Huffman; his grandson, Derek Moss; his sister-in-law, Cynthia VanHise and brother-in-law, Bill Hoffert.

Tim was a 1963 graduate of Fairmont High School in Kettering. After high school, served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Tim will be remembered by his family and friends as a social man who never met a stranger. Tim had the ability to strike up a conversation no matter where he was or who he was with. Tim enjoyed working with and showing gourds. He was a member of the American and Ohio Gourd Societies, on the state level, Tim served as a past Show Chairman. He was also a member of the West Central Ohio Gourd Patch, where he served for years as President. Tim was a Certified Master Gardener by the Ohio State Extension Office. When Tim wasn’t tending to gourds or other garden items, you could find him enjoying sports, as an avid fan of Dayton Flyer basketball and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed auto racing and throwing horseshoes where he was a past champion of the Darke County Snowball Classic. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025, at Highland Cemetery, 7835 Ingle Road, Covington, Ohio 45318, with Pastor Tony Price officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given in Tim’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6077 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45459.
