Starting June 2, the City of Greenville will have a Code Enforcement Officer assigned by the Police Department to oversee and enforce local zoning laws and ordinances within the City pertaining to nuisance, health, safety and environment issues by performing inspections of properties and grounds.
In order to avoid receiving a citation, property owners & residents are being advised to voluntarily remove visible violations such as abandoned cars, debris, garbage, trash, and/or junkyard conditions, etc.; and to properly maintain (or repair) structures on properties so as to not pose a health risk to the community by becoming dilapidated or a nuisance.
With these efforts, our intent is to work to keep our community looking nice, safe and improve people’s quality of life.
