January 14, 2022
In Western Ohio over the last few years, we have seen an invasion of Waterhemp and continue to struggle to control Marestail and Giant Ragweed.Supply chain issues have also made 2022 weed control even more difficult. Therefore, Darke and Shelby County Agriculture and Natural Resources Educators Taylor Dill and Matt Schmerge are hosting a Weeds University with speakers Dr. Mark Loux and Alyssa Essman. Topics covered for the day will be local weed issues, weed biology and identification, control strategies, cover crop management in forages, and evaluating herbicides. This class will also provide producers with the updated weeds guide and other Take Action weeds material.
The class will be host at the Amos Memorial Public Library 230 East North Street Sidney, OH 45365 on February 3, 2022. Pre-registration is required for this event and has a $40 fee for lunch and materials. For questions or registration contact Taylor Dill at dill.138@osu.edu or 937-569-5000.
