Darke County Parks would like to invite the residents of Darke County as they honor the many fond memories of late maintenance supervisor, Wayne Nichols, with a celebration of the naming of the “Wayne Nichols Bridge” on the Tecumseh Trail in Greenville. Wayne was instrumental in creating this beautiful stretch of trail over tough terrain for the community. His handiwork can also be observed in many other improvements within each Darke County park location. Wayne was a hard worker with a contagious smile and witty sense of humor! He is still missed tremendously by all who worked with and knew him. Park District staff and volunteers still talk of his “feats of daring” as he went about his job.
Please join DCP at this event to share your memories of Wayne with his family and friends and enjoy this lovely section of trail on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 9 a.m.
Parking will be at the Darke DD Office, 5844 Jaysville-St. John Rd., Greenville, OH 45331, to the left side of the building near the trail. A short stroll will take you to the sight; transportation will be available for those who are unable to walk the short distance.
Please indicate when you RSVP if you need special transportation.
RSVP to Deb Shiverdecker, dshiverdecker@darkecountyparks.org or (937)548-0165.
