On August 30, 2024, Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies, with assistance from Greenville Police, executed a search warrant at 524 Gray Avenue, Greenville. As a result of this search, deputies arrested the following persons:
- Joseph Smith, age 43, Greenville, OH – Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
- Carrie Swink, age 28, Greenville, OH – Child Endangering
- Jodie Cummins, age 35, Greenville, OH – Child Endangering
All three were incarcerated in the Darke County Jail pending their arraignment in court. Two children were removed from the home by deputies and were placed in the custody of Darke County Children Services.
This investigation was derived in part, on tips received by concerned citizens. Sheriff Whittaker asks that citizens continue to report suspected drug activity to his office.
Further charges are pending a review from the Darke County Prosecutor’s Office.
