ANSONIA- After giving up 20 points in the first half, the Ansonia Tigers defense decided there would be no more.

Lehman Catholic had no chance on offense.

On the other side of the ball, the Tigers offense was not to be denied.

Holding a 38-20 lead at the break, the offense seemed to feed off the defense, putting 22 second half points on the board.

“I’m so proud of these kids,” said Ansonia coach Adam Hall. “These  kids work so hard during the week.”

Led by Jacob Schmitmeyer, Zane Henderson and Layne Bowman at quarterback, the Tigers had their way all night.

Now, the Tigers face a monumental task next when they will do battle with the defending state champions, Marion Local at a site yet to be determined.

“Marion Local is the top dog, everyone knows that,” said Hall.”We just have to be the best team we can be.”

Tri-Village bowed out of the tournament with a loss to Marion Local.
