Denise O’Dell

AUGUST 18, 1961 – MAY 21, 2024

Denise R. O’Dell, 62 passed away Tuesday May 21, 2024 after a brief illness. Denise was born August 18, 1961 in Greenville, Ohio, to the Late Patricia (Altick) Peace and Robert Johnson.

Denise is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandmother Doris O. Altick.

Denise is survived by her husband of 27 years, Larry G. O’Dell; her step sons and wives, Robert “Rob” and Amy O’Dell, and Lonnie “Lon” and Dianna O’Dell; her mother in law, Virginia O’Dell; her brothers, Dennis Johnson and Joshua Peace; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her cousins, Mary Lou, Bobby, Linda, Cathy, Theressa, Minetta, Sherman, Jimmy, Lyda Kelly, and Stephanie; and her beloved fur baby Jazzy.

Mr. Rupinder Singh and his family were not just her work family but thought of as her second family that she loved.

Denise managed the gas station on the circle for 20 years for the Singh family. She loved seeing her regular customers and always greeted them either by their name or “Hon” she never met a stranger.

Denise has bartended over the years at the Moose Lodge, Eagles Club, American Legion and Elks of Greenville. She has been an auxiliary member of the American Legion, Eagles, and V.F.W. She loved to mingle with the members while enjoying a cool beverage, telling a story and playing a few tickets. When Denise laughed everyone around her laughed with her. That infectious laugh will be missed.

Denise’s hobbies included fishing with Larry, playing cards, grilling a good steak or chop, working in her yard and flowerbeds, and listening to her country western artist Gene Watson.

Denise will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday May 24, 2024 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. There will be a private burial will take place at later date at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset the funeral expenses.
