The Darke County Animal Shelter has 2 new dogs available for adoption.
They got the Bordatella and Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines and are heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped.
The Shelter’s visiting hours are Monday-Friday 8am-11:45 am and 1 pm-4pm. Saturday only by appointment. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd. Greenville, OH 45331 and you can reach them at 937-547-1645.
Dixie we are told is a 7 yr old female Havanese mix. Unfortunately, Dixie has not had the typical dog life as she was used for breeding until she was not longer needed. Dixie does not like a leash as it is not natural to her, and she is not the most social pup with people. Dixie will need lots of love, patience, and compassion as she transitions into pet life. Turbo we believe to be a 6-month-old male Border Collie mix. Turbo has no idea what a leash is for and is very intimidated. Turbo will need some love and patients but give time and understanding that some human has done him wrong in the past, we believe he will make wonderful companion for someone.
