Dixie J. Jones age 83, of Greenville passed away at 12:42 AM on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.
Dixie was born February 7, 1938, in Greenville to the late Donald “Don” & Mary Anna (Edwards) Wentworth. In addition to her parents, Dixie was also preceded in death by a daughter, Roxane Reed; sister, Carol Clawson; and brother, Jerry Wentworth.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Robert “Ed” Jones whom she married June 28, 1958; children, Kathy & Dennis Brewer of Ft. Recovery, David Jones of Arcanum, Robbie & Sherri Jones of Arcanum, Nick & Tammy Jones of Richmond, Indiana and Dianna Hofer of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Ashley & Shaun Scrafford, Kierra & Billy Rogers, Jarrett Jones, Melissa & Brian Laux, Nick & Eleana Jones, Matthew & Tiffany Hammaker, Lucas Hammaker, Josh Thomas, Charles Brown, Angie Dixon and Amy & Volli Rose; great-grandchildren, Erika, Alexander, Zailynn, Rylee, Jonathan, Meghan, Edmond, Elizabeth, Leah, Colt, Oaklyn, Kruz, Londyn and Payton; brother & sister-in-law, Jim & Barb Wentworth of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dixie was a homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and crafting. Shen enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County.
