ANSONIA-The Dixie Lady Greyhounds rolled into Ansonia Thursday night looking for their first Western Ohio Athletic Conference victory.
The Hounds rolled out, still looking for that elusive first win. It didn’t take long for the Lady Tigers to flex their muscle as the Tigers rolled to a convincing 75-40 WOAC victory.
Ansonia jumped out to a 22-10 first quarter lead and never looked back in what could be described as a near perfect game.
It was a night when Tigers coach Conner Custonborder had nothing but praise for his kids. “We met all of our goals tonight,” said Custonborder after the game. “We wanted 80 shot attempts and we were close to that tonight.”
The Tigers put four in double figures, led by freshman, Charlotte Barga with 18 points.
It was Barga that had the praises of Custonboarder. “I told her before the game tonight that she needs to expand her game. Other teams will know about you in the future. She’s starting to learn how to create shots off the dribble but she’s0 not going to be able to sneak up on anyone because she’s on everyone’s radar.” Custonborder quipped.
Now 4-2, the Tigers will host Bradford on the 19th.
