It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dolores Jean Riegle, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, who peacefully passed away on October 9, 2024, at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville. Born on May 17, 1934, Dolores was the daughter of James Oscar and Myrtle Ruth (Oswalt) Small.
In addition to her parents, Dolores is preceded in death by her son, James R. Riegle; son in law, Robert “Bob” Tiller; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jim Magee; brother, Ronald Small; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Rismiller.
Dolores will be forever cherished and remembered by her loving daughters, Anita Tiller, Alaine (Rusty) Dunn, and Teri Black; 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Rismiller; brother, James (Marie) Small; and sister-in-law, Judy Small. Dolores leaves behind a profound legacy of love and strength that will live on in the hearts of her family.
Dolores graduated from Monroe High School in 1952. Her faith and her family were her passion and joys in her life. She belonged to First United Methodist Church in Greenville. Dolores retired from Wayne Hospital after working in administration for 25 years. After retirement, Dolores started volunteering at Hospice and Wayne Hospital. She also enjoyed working in her garden and going antiquing.
A private celebration of Dolores’s life will be held in honor of her memory by her family at a later date.
