Don W. Zell, 79, of Covington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, after a six-month battle with cancer. Don was born February 14, 1944, in Sidney, to the late Carl & Mary Ellen (Hughes) Zell.
A graduate of Troy High School, Don is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra K. (Trappe) Zell; his three children, Shannon (Barbara) Zell, Tricia Zell, and Coleman Zell; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Gene (Vonda) Zell; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Don retired from Hobart Corp./PMI after 32 years of service.
Don was a very humble man who didn’t want a visitation or service, so there will be a celebration of his life on a future date. Moore Funeral Home in Covington is aiding the family with his final wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
