Tielbur, Doris Jean, age 94, of Greenville, formerly of Pitsburg, passed away peacefully at the Brethren Retirement Community on Sat. February 3, 2024, following an extended illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna & Earl Metzger, by her husband, Delbert (Deb) Tielbur, by a grandson, Aaron Ross and also by a stillborn daughter.
She retired in 1988 after a career in procurement at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton. She attended SonRise Church in Ithaca. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, and was very involved in their lives. She was vivacious and very outgoing and never met a stranger. She was an icon in her beloved community of Pitsburg and she had a multitude of friends. She loved her church family very much. Doris loved fishing (and trying to out-fish Deb). They spent many wonderful years at their place at Rice Lake, Canada, and there were many memorable times spent there. She loved to sew and knit and do bible studies. She had a vast knowledge of US History that she loved to share with others. She had many beloved co-workers at WPAFB and she was known for her folder full or ornery jokes and cartoons. She will be deeply missed.
Doris is survived by a daughter, Becky (Tony) Schultz; son, Greg (Shaunna) Tielbur; grandchildren, Rachel (Bryan) Duncan, Kiel (Michele) Tielbur, Max Tielbur, Wesley (Amy) Schultz, Kendra (Rich) McKee & Brent Schultz; great-grandchildren, Evan & Chelsea Duncan, Gauge & Brynlee McKee; bonus brothers, Gary Tielbur & Eldean Glick along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Friday, Feb. 9 at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, 204 N. Main St. Arcanum, OH 45304, with burial to follow in Mote Cemetery near Pitsburg.
