Douglas “Doug” Hoff

February 16, 1945 – January 17, 2025

Douglas A. Hoff, 79 of Union City, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Friday January 17, 2025, at 12:07 PM at Miami Valley Hospital North. Doug was born February 16, 1945, in West Manchester, Ohio the son of the late Carl and Goldie (Scheiding) Hoff.

Doug was a 1963 graduate of Monroe High School; he served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He was a factory worker, working at Shellar Globe, Whirlpool, and Grief Packaging. He was a member of the NRA; American Legion, he attended church; he enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, and was an avid lover of animals and an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Football Fan. Doug truly believed that it is more blessed to give than to receive.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Carolyn East, Wanda Wolfe, Marilyn Wehrley, Jack Hoff, Lowell Hoff, and Jacob “Bud” Hoff.

Doug was a loving father and grandfather and is survived by his daughter and son in law, Tracie and Michael Yoder of Greenville; his grandchildren, Victoria Enis, Abigail Yoder, and Jacob Yoder; and his great granddaughter, Demi Gray; his brother and sister in law, Donald and Joyce Hoff; his significant other, Joyce Harter and her children, Amanda and Ed Johnston, and Dawn and Kevin Beisner; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held on Sunday January 26, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. The Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will conduct veteran’s honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Darke County Humane Society.
