Cook, whom she married Aug. 19, 1944, her son Robert F. Cook; her siblings John Robert Wood, Cora Passon Ward, Wanetta Wissinger, Nadine Clemens, Avo Sleppy, Mary Gasper, Benjamin Wood, Ralph Wood; grandchildren Bradley Thompson, Trent Dean; great grandchildren, Larissa Beisner, Corynna Strawser, and (twins) Alena and Michael Schillinger.

Edith will always be remembered for her unconditional love. Her family, friends and anyone who met her were embraced with a warmth that left you feeling special, cherished and appreciated.  She was lovingly called “sweet Edith” by her caregivers during her illness who often stated that when they met her there was just something about her that they were drawn to.  That special love that radiated from her came from her relationship with Jesus, her Lord and Savior.  She faithfully attended Triumphant Christian Center and was continuing to teach Sunday School at the age of 96.

Edith loved nature and anything that had to do with being in the great outdoors.  She enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the birds, wildlife, fishing, berry picking and gardening.  She loved going into the woods mushroom hunting and exploring with her children and grandchildren. Edith’s family meant the world to her and she always cherished time spent with them.  She especially loved holding her precious new grand babies, as they were welcomed into this world.

Edith’s love, laughter, life, legacy and her beautiful fragrance will linger throughout her family’s lives and will remind all how very blessed and privileged we were to have the special treasure of her love.
