Edna Mae Striegel, 93, formerly of Rossburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Greenville, Ohio.
She was born on July 19, 1928, in Jasper, Indiana, to the late Robert J. Sr., and Dorothy J. (Schmidt) Kress. Edna married James H. Striegel on July 22, 1947, in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2005.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Judith (James) Brandenburg of Greenville, Rebecca McManus of Peru, Indiana, Brenda (David) Perry of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Mary (Greg) Knick of Ansonia, Ohio; her grandchildren, Jennifer Knick, Shelby Galloway, Sarah McManus, and Connor Perry; her great grandchildren, Carter and London McManus; and her sister, Joyce (John) Elkins of Bradenton, Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Tisdale; her brother, Robert Kress, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Leatrice (Lester) Klosterman; and her brother-in-law, Jack Striegel.
Edna was a 1946 graduate of Jasper High School. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, and watching Indiana basketball. Edna was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, where she participated in the Ladies Sodality.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, with Father David Howard celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Edna’s family before Mass on Thursday from 9:15 AM until 10:15 AM at the church.
