Erlene W. Hocker, 79 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 10:50 AM at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. He was born August 24, 1942 in________, the daughter of the late Dale and Letha (Wyan) Miller. She was a homemaker.
Erlene was a member of First United Methodist Church; a 50 year member of Eastern Star; she enjoyed reading, square dancing, archery, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, sewing, bird watching, gardening, and flowers.
Erlene is preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers: Richard, Darlene, and Sheldon Miller.
Erlene is survived by her husband: Keith Hocker of Greenville whom she married May 27, 1960; her children: Renea Harroun of Texas, Teena (Robert) Peak of Greenville, Todd (Melissa) Hocker; her grandchildren: David Houdeshell of Texas, Douglas Houdeshell of Columbus, Justin Houdeshell of Sidney, Brandon Jay of Troy, Zachary Jay of Greenville, Samantha Jay of Rossburg, Ahlia (Eric) McCoy of Dayton; great grandchildren: Savanna Houdeshell, Tyler Houdeshell, Hannah Houdeshell, Dakota Houdeshell, Gavin, Houdeshell, Madaline Houdeshell, Jason Houdeshell, Olivia Houdeshell, Evelyn Houdeshell, Alana Blankenship, Tyrion McCoy, Laylah Jay; her great great grandchildren: Lylah Houdeshell, Ayden Houdeshell; and her brother Steve (Jaunita) Miller of Coshocton, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday December 4, 2021 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church 202 West Fourth Street, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Doug Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio and 1 hour on Saturday at church. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
