EverHeart Hospice would like to honor and recognize all veterans and those currently serving our country this Veterans Day. They would also like to recognize their very own veterans, including staff, Board members, and volunteers, that have served our country over the years.
Jim Stamcoff, Second Vice President of EverHeart’s Board, served in the United States Air Force
John Strawser, EverHeart Volunteer, served in the United States Navy
John Szanto, EverHeart Volunteer, served in the United States Army
Kelley Hall, EverHeart Hospice Nurse Practitioner, served in the Army National Guard
Rick Hyatt, EverHeart Volunteer, served in the United States Navy
Theresa Crandall, EverHeart Volunteer, served in the Army Nurse Corps
Tim Ellis, EverHeart Hospice Care Center RN, served in both the United States Air Force and Army
EverHeart Hospice is also proud to honor all veteran patients through their partnership with the National We Honor Veterans Program. As part of their We Honor Veterans Program, EverHeart offers pinning ceremonies to veterans receiving hospice services. These ceremonies are performed by a special group of volunteers that are fellow veterans. The ceremonies consist of presenting the patient with a leather-bound folder that holds a personalized certificate with the patient’s name and the branch of service they were in, a unique pin that our volunteer pins on the patient, and a salute. Volunteers will also discuss the patient’s time in service and their experiences if the patient wishes.
EverHeart Hospice’s We Honor Veterans Program gives patients that have served our country honor and dignity, providing them with the recognition they deserve.
