The Darke County Animal Shelter has 4 new dogs available for adoption.
They got the Bordatella and Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines and are heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped.
The Shelter’s visiting hours are Monday-Friday 8am-11:45 am and 1 pm-4pm. Saturday 9am-11:30 am. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd. Greenville, OH 45331 and you can reach them at 937-547-1645.
Zira came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of her own, unfortunately they were moving and could not take her with them. We are told Zira is an 8 year old spayed female, French Mastiff Mix. Zira is a very sweet girl who loves to just hang out and lounge with you! Zira is great with kids of all ages, great with cats and lived with another dog who has already been adopted! Zira loves to go for car rides and walks. Zira’s favorite thing to do is to cuddle! We are also told Zira is housebroken, will let you know by whimpering at the door and she is crate trained. Zira seems to love everyone she has met. Zira has shown us she will lick the treat and knows how to sit! Zira walks well on a leash and doesn’t mind the other dog here at the shelter. Zira did great for her nail trim, bath and exam where she weighs in at 68 lbs.Moss came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of her own, unfortunately they had a change in job. We are told Moss is an 1 1/2 year old female German Short Hair Pointer Mix. Moss is great with kids of all ages, great with dogs, housebroken and crate trained! Moss seems to love everyone she has met. Moss has shown us she knows how to sit and loves treats! Moss is leaning to walks on a leash and doesn’t mind the other dog here at the shelter. Moss did great for her bath and exam where she weighs in at 38.8 lbs.Duke came to us as an owner surrender. We are told Duke is a 10 month old male Border Collie/ Bernese Mountain Dog Mix. Duke is great with kids of all ages and likes to play with balls, squeaky toys and to be brushed. Duke is great in the car and runs with kids. Duke knows how to sit and lay down. Duke is a very friendly dog who doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Duke did great for his bath, nail trim and exam where he weighs in at 54 lbs.Dom came to us as an owner surrender, due to no fault of his own, his owner got a new job and is not home. We have been told Dom is a 5-year-old intact male Dachshund Mix. Dom is great with kids of all ages and other dogs! Dom has never been around cats, so we are not sure how he would be with cats. Dom is housebroken and crate trained. Dom has shown us he loves to be held and loves squeaky toys and walks great on a leash. Dom doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Dom weighs in at 15.4 lbs. and did great for his bath and exam
